What about people with criminal records? Again, doubtfully the largest demographic of homeless, but no small part of it either. Once that black mark is on their history, it's possible that it limits their job prospects. There are companies that do background checks and will avoid possible hires that have had touble with the law in the past. Those companies quite simply don't want to risk having someone become a repeat offender and tarnish their name. People do make dumb decisions when they were younger, so should their possible economic well being be garnished because of that? Those affected by that stigma may feel ostracized after being passed over for jobs they beleive they deserve, so they leave normal society to find others like them. Again, this is not all people with records, but it is something that exists.
