横浜市英語塾 Homelessness part two of many
Talking to 10 people will give you 10 different reasons as to why homelessness is on the rise. Everyone has something to blame for the issue. I'm going to try to break each one I've heard down to its basics using 'what ifs'.
I hear rising housing prices a lot so let's start there. Rising rent in cities with good job prospects is caused by an influx of skilled workers vying for those higher paying jobs. People don't want to be late to work and fight traffic, so they choose to live near their place of employment. Less commute time means more time spent doing things you want in your free time. Those with higher paying jobs are willing to pay more for their lodgings, so previous tenants are simply outbid and forced to search for cheaper houses or better paying jobs that they may not be qualified for. Rent control may work for a while to help those who are just getting started or those who have lived theremost of their lives.
