横浜市英語塾 Humidity part two
So over the past almost two decades, I've been trying to best find a way to deal with the suffocating humidity that plagues me every summer. Being stingy, I try to find the most cost effective way to ease my life every time the monsoons come and bring the big wet. I also keep my ear to the ground and keep an eye on new products that are supposed to make the summer heat more bearable. The small hand held fans that have become more prevalent in the recent decade were a great introduction that have made some people very rich. I applaud their step up to the plate and capitalize on a bad situation attitude.
過去約 20 年にわたり、毎年夏に悩まされる息苦しい湿気に対処する最善の方法を見つけようと努めてきました。自分はケチなので、夏前が来る大雨が降るたびに、最も効率の高い方法で生活を楽にしようと努めます。常に耳を傾け、夏の暑さをより耐えられると思われる新製品に注目しています。ここ 10 年でさらに普及した小型の手持ち扇風機は、一部の人々を非常に裕福にさせた素晴らしい導入品です。
I don't use those fans simply because I don't like carrying things in my hands while going about my daily business. The same reason why I eschew umbrellas in preference to ponchos. To deal with the heat though, I wrap four similarly sized small ice packs that are given as a service at most Japanese cake shops for take out orders, in the long bath towels that are found at most bath houses. Then I wrap it around my neck to cool the blood traveling to and from my head. I find this the most effective at keeping relatively cool and it has the added benefit of absorbing the sweat that trickles down the neck.
日常で物を手に持つのが好きではないので、これらの扇風機は使いません。傘ではなく、ポンチョを持ち歩いているのは同じ理由です。暑さ対策として、日本のほとんどのケーキ屋さんでテイクアウトのサービスとして提供されている同じくらいの大きさの小さな保冷剤を4つ、銭湯にある長めのバスタオルで包んでいます。それからそれを首に巻き付けて、頭に行き来する血液を冷やします。これが比較的涼しさを保つのに最も効果的で、首から滴る汗を吸収するという追加の利点もあります。
