Like most blue blooded males, I have a favorite dinosaur. I try to visit dinosaur exhibits whenever I can to appease my inner child. But this time was different. I had to go because the best preserved ankylosaurin fossil came to the Ueno Natural History Museam.
男でしたら、一押しの恐竜がいます。自分の中の子供心を落ち着かせるために、できる限り恐竜の展示物を訪れるようにしています。しかし、今回は違いました。最も保存状態の良いアンキロサウリンの化石が上野自然史博物館に来たので、いかなければならない状況になりました。
Yes, the ankylosaur class of dinosaurs are my favorite dinosaurs. There's just something about them that draws me them. Maybe its the almost invincible defensive armor that covers its head and back. Or maybe it's its low center of gravity that makes it a reliable cruising mount in my wildest dreams. Who hasn't dreamt of having a stable of dinosaurs to ride on different occastions?

While not having a cool name like the stegasaurus' thagomizer (thank you Gary Larson for that one), the club on the ankylosaur is arguably better than a spiky tail. With a foreswing and the backswing, you can serve up a double dish of blunt force trauma to a potential predator. It's great for breaking bones and wounding pride.
