SSN-571 Nautilus became the first nuclear powered ship in the world.  Christened 68 years ago it went on to set multiple nautical records untill being retired as a museum in the 80s.  

Nuclear propulsion was especially important for submarines because the energy producing process does not consume oxygen.  This allowed the ships to stay underwater for months at a time.  Strategically awesome, but it must be quite the trial to be on board during that time.

SSN-571ノーチラスは世界で最初の原子力船になりました。 68年前に名前を受け、80年代に博物館として引退するまで、複数の航海記録を作りました。

エネルギー生成プロセスは酸素を消費しないため、原子力推進は潜水艦にとって特に重要でした。これにより、船は一度に数ヶ月間水中にとどまることができました。戦略的には素晴らしいですが、船員ではかなり辛いと思います。
