I have always lived in places that have had a high chance of earthquakes occuring.  So, I am barely phased by anything less than a 5.  That being said, it must be absolutely terrifying for people that have spent their lives in areas that don't have earthquakes and suddenly one occurs like in New Madrid, USA in 1811.

I would probably lose my mind if I saw a tornado.

いつも地震の可能性が高い場所に住んできました。ですから、5未満の段階でも動じません。とはいえ、地震のない地域で生活を送った人々にとっては絶対に恐ろしいことであり、1811年に米国のニューマドリッドのように突然地震が発生しました。

自分だって竜巻を見たら気が遠くなるでしょう。
